DIAGRAM AND ANALYSISThe Mayans created three different types of calendars called the Long Count, The Haab, and The Tzolkin. Each of them have a different purpose to contribute to the cycle of their calendar. The Long Count is used to track longer periods of time, which they also called the "universal cycle." The Haab was a 365 day solar calendar. It is divided into 18 months of 20 days, but one of the months, the 19th, is only five days. The Tzolkin, which is also known as the "Sacred Round", distributes the days. This part of the calendar is a 260 calendar and is used to determine the time for religious and ceremonial events.
